Just In: Tennis Fans Excited as Andy Murray Makes a Heartwarming Confession About His Wife and Children: ‘I Was Away So Much of My Career

Andy Murray has been “loving” retired life.
While speaking to Hello Magazine in an interview published Saturday, July 11, the two-time Wimbledon champion, 39, emphasized that there have been many great experiences since retiring from tennis.
“I was away so much of my career and always really missed my family, so I love being able to be part of their day-to-day life now,” Murray said. “I go to as many things as I can with the children — the school run, sports matches, chess club — it’s brilliant. I know I’m very fortunate to be able to do it now.”
The tennis star shares three daughters — Sophia, 10, Edie, 9, and a 5-year-old daughter whose name has not been confirmed — and 6-year-old son Teddy with his wife Kim Murray.

Although spending more time at home is still often “fairly chaotic” with four children and a dog, Murray shared a glimpse into what their ideal day looks like.
“Mainly, we all like being outside, doing something active together,” he told the outlet. “Often it’s just going for a walk in the woods with the dog, or kicking a ball around in the garden, something simple we can all do together.”
Murray revealed that he would be retiring from tennis while competing in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Arrived in Paris for my last ever tennis tournament @Olympics,” he wrote on Instagram alongside a throwback photo of himself standing on the Olympic podium in Rio after winning gold in the men’s singles in 2016. “Competing for 🇬🇧 have been by far the most memorable weeks of my career and I’m extremely proud to get do it one final time!.”
Although he is no longer competing, Murray was spotted watching Wimbledon from the sidelines alongside Kate Middleton and more enthusiastic stars.
“I think it means a lot to the players and to tennis fans to see the royal family at Wimbledon,” he told Hello Magazine of the Princess of Wales, 44. “It’s part of the tradition of Wimbledon and the fans really like that, especially the overseas fans.”
“We watched the Katie Swan and Madison Keys match, so it was good to be watching a British player together,” he continued. “She is definitely a tennis fan and she plays a bit herself, I think.”
