Carlos Alcaraz has already returned to work five days after his US Open quarter-final defeat to Ben Shelton following an incredible battle.
The world No. 3 hit the practice court in Murcia on Sunday, preparing for the upcoming tournaments and working hard on his game.
The Spaniard is preparing to mix regular tournaments with exhibition action, hoping to raise his game even higher after missing four months due to a right wrist injury that forced him to skip two Majors and four Masters 1000 events.
Carlos will first travel to London for the Laver Cup, joining Alexander Zverev in Team Europe. After that, the seven-time Major winner will compete in Tokyo and Shanghai, hoping to lift his first ATP trophy since February.
After that, the Spaniard will enter the Six Kings Slam in Riyadh, hoping to finally go all the way at the biggest exhibition in tennis world.
Alcaraz begins preparing for the Laver Cup
After missing more than four months due to an injury, the 23-year-old has to create his schedule wisely. Carlos will not travel to Chile for the Davis Cup tie.
Instead, we will see him at the Laver Cup in London from September 25 to 27. The world No. 3 will try to bring another title to the Team Europe, backed by the US Open champion Alexander Zverev.
From the British capital, Alcaraz will fly directly to Tokyo, where he will try to defend the ATP 500 title in the first week of October against Ben Shelton, Taylor Fritz, Frances Tiafoe and Rafael Jodar.
The following two weeks will be reserved for the Shanghai Masters, where the Spaniard has yet to present his A-game.
Six Kings Slam awaits in Riyadh
On his way back to Europe, Carlos will make another stop, this time in Riyadh for the Six Kings Slam between October 21 to 24. The Spaniard will enter the lucrative exhibition for the third time, having lost two finals to Jannik Sinner.
Alongside Sinner, Novak Djokovic, Alexander Zverev, Taylor Fritz and Alex de Minaur will complete the field. After his long absence between April and August, Alcaraz is quickly getting back into his routine.
The 23-year-old played well in his first comeback event at the US Open, having beaten four rivals. He faced the crowd favorite Ben Shelton in the quarter-final and lost a thrilling five-setter at 3:33 a.m. on Arthur Ashe Stadium.
The American prevailed in the deciding match tie break, and despite a heartbreaking loss, the Spaniard felt happy about his level following the most extended break of his career.
