BREAKING: Emma Raducanu plots new career completely away from tennis in ‘dream’ role

Emma Raducanu has revealed that she would like to go into the art industry once her tennis career comes to an end. The former British No.1 has been dealing with several injury concerns throughout the year and has not been on the court since June.

Raducanu missed Wimbledon and the US Open due to a stress fracture in her leg, with her most recent event being Queen’s in June, and recently withdrew from the China Open, despite being one of the names on the list of participants expected to compete.

The 23-year-old has fallen dramatically down the world rankings in recent months and was unable to compete in the US Open this month, the grand slam she won back in 2021.

With Raducanu still yet to make a return from injury, having not played a competitive match since June, the Brit has now revealed what he hopes to do away from tennis in the future.

In an interview with Uniqlo, Raducanu has explained why the art industry appeals to her, and why it’s her “dream” after her professional tennis career is over.

“I’d love to have my own gallery,” Raducanu said, when asked what she wants to do in 20 years’ time. “I’m especially taken with works on canvas and sculpture in the vein of modern art.

“It’s amazing how differently everyone responds to art. I’d like to explore this as a curator and create a space that reflects my own sensibilities. That’s the dream.”

Raducanu also opened up on what her goals are for the next few years in tennis, revealing her mindset as the wait for her return from injury goes on.

“Athletes have such short careers,” Raducanu said. “I’m going to keep doing my best and enjoying the process to the fullest.

“Of course I have concrete goals, but what matters most is focusing on each day at a time. If you obsess over results and put too much pressure on yourself, things tend not to go so well!”
