It was signed off with “W & C” indicating that the message came directly from William and Catherine.

Manfred, who was made an MBE by the King in September for his services to Holocaust remembrance and education, died at age 95, as reported on Friday.

The King expressed his condolences in a heartfelt note released by Buckingham Palace. He praised the survivor and shared how it “meant more to me than I can ever say to have been able to wish the fondest of farewells, a few weeks ago” at the investiture ceremony.

He noted that it was his “greatest privilege and joy to have known him” and sent prayers to his grieving family”.

William and Kate joined the monarch in his grief with kind words, solidifying the stance that they stand together after finally closing the chapter of disgrace and humiliation with Andrew and Sarah Ferguson.
