Just In: “I don’t take him back like a broma” – Novak Djokovic shares his feelings about Andy Murray’s reaction before his triumph in Ginebra and the end of his relationship as a coach
Novak Djokovic recently revealed the conversation that he and Andy Murray had shared before Rafael Nadal’s honorary ceremony in the National Football League 2025 on Sunday (25 May). The British apparently have a secret at their own expense over their training credentials. However, the Serbian was not holding him, and he has always held immense respect for the three times greatest ganador for his admisión.
Djokovic and Murray separated at the beginning of this month after starting their collaboration last December. The main player enjoyed some favorable results on 24 occasions as the former No. 1 in the world, reaching the semi-finals of the Australian Open to win the Roller Niggles and finalizing the sub-campaign at the Miami Open. I say this, many low points during his association, including the racha of three parties that the 38-year-old player won before last week’s Genebra Open.
After his second round climbs in the Monte-Carlo Masters and the Madrid Masters, respectively, Novak Djokovic finally returned to form when he won the No. 100 singles title by turning over Hubert Hurkacz in a three-set battle from Titanic in the Geneva final. In this context, he asked the Serbian he had spoken to Andy Murray about his recent reversal of fortunes after his separation.
In response, the No. 6 in the world revealed a recent exchange between him and Murray in Paris, where he was the last to have gained his qualification as a coach, to escape from his old hall.
“At the end of the game over the tournament, yes, it’s my happiness, and I say: “Now that you have a good trainer, you’re playing tournaments”. No, I won’t take it like a game”, I said Novak Djokovic to the communication channels in Paris while I was playing. “I want to say, yes, because I assumed that he was brooding, but I think that I have said enough, but I will say it again: Andy is simply an incredible person.”
During the interaction, the 24-year-old principal also revealed that his separation with Andy Murray was mutual.
Novak Djokovic says he was “very privileged and honored” to work with Andy Murray
Looking at Djokovic’s comments, much like Murray, he predicted the end of his club during the tough Serbian match at the beginning of this year. However, on the 24th of the year the mayor expressed his gratitude to the former British No. 1 player in the world for serving as his coach, stating that it was an “incredible” opportunity for everyone on board.
“It was mutual. We both wanted to have a call and talk, so that we, in reality, both of us were on the same page. For that matter, it wasn’t on initiative or I initiative”, added Djokovic. “We were the two together and just decided, you know, I think we should end up here. That’s what it was.”
“For him to join my team and for us to be able to break up, this relationship between player/entrepreneur was truly incredible for the tennis player and for the two of us. I was very privileged and honored.”
Meanwhile, the 38-year-old player joined forces with fellow Serbians Dusan Vemic and Boris Bosnjakovic. He will be eager to delve into the French work in the North. The next quincena will open the campaign against Mackenzie McDonald of United States later on Tuesday (27 May).
