BREAKING: Tennis Fans Left Speechless as Andy Murray Makes a Shocking Apology to Hotel Guests While Wife Kim Addresses a Major Life Change
Sir Andy Murray and his wife Kim have opened up on their lives together, two years on from his retirement from tennis.
The three-time Grand Slam champion hung up his racket at the Paris Olympics in 2024, bringing the curtain down on a glittering career that saw him win 46 titles, including two Wimbledon triumphs and one US Open championship. With three Olympic medals – two gold and one silver – also under his belt, the former British number one is rightly considered one of the greatest players of his generation.
Now, two years on from taking to the court for the final time, Murray’s life looks very different, with tennis no longer taking up all of his time. He is still involved in the sport, joining fellow British star Jack Draper’s coaching team earlier this year after previously teaming up with his former fierce rival Novak Djokovic as a coach for the 2025 Australian Open.
However, his interests are now more varied, with golf becoming his sport of choice. The Scotsman has dedicated much of his retirement so far to honing his skills on the course, even sharing plans to enter regional qualifying for The Open Championship.
Outside of sport, the 39-year-old has also moved to boost his estimated net worth of around £110 million, having banked over £50million in prize money alone during his playing career.
Through a series of lucrative moves since retiring from tennis, Murray has seen the value of his business empire soar, with the latest accounts for his company 77 Management showing it is valued at just under £21.5 million.
His various business exploits include brand deals with Walker’s Shortbread, Albert Bartlett potatoes and pet food company Purina, as well as founding tennis clothing brand AMC with Castore and investing in padel firm Game4Padel.
Murray has also taken on a new job as a venture capitalist, becoming an associate partner at Redrice Ventures, while earlier this year he launched a new YouTube channel – The Set – alongside his brother Jamie.
In addition, 77 Management also controls the stunning five-star Cromlix House hotel, which the tennis star and his wife Kim bought in 2013 for a reported £1.8 million. The luxury hotel, which sits in 34 acres of private grounds and woodland, was named Scotland’s AA Hotel of the Year and awarded a Michelin Key in 2024, with Kim at the forefront of an ambitious renovation project.
The hotel, which is situated near Murray’s home town of Dunblane, is now a major part of the couple’s life, and a favourite spot for their four children – Sophia, 10; Edie, 9; Teddy, 6 and Lola, 5.
In a recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Andy and Kim revealed that the children stay at the hotel “three or four times a year”, with the former British number one admitting he has had to apologise to guests for their presence.
“If I were staying in a lovely hotel, I probably wouldn’t want the owner’s children running around in pyjamas,” he said. “They wake up ridiculously early.”
Meanwhile, Kim added that the kids “come here and completely abuse the food,” adding: “Our youngest refuses to eat breakfast anywhere else, but she adores the crème brûlée porridge.
In the same interview, Kim admitted that while her husband’s retirement from professional sport had been an adjustment, becoming parents a decade ago had already sparked a major change in them and their family life.
“By the end of Andy’s career, life already looked different,” she said as she addressed the transition. “We had the children, there were injuries, then Covid. We weren’t the same people we were in our twenties.”
It comes after Murray admitted that he was putting fatherhood first in retirement, with his relationship with his children becoming “so much stronger” since walking away from tennis
I’m very lucky that I’m in a position where I’m able to do that,” he told HELLO! magazine about his new routine, with the school run his primary focus. “I do all of the drop-offs and pickups, and I’m now there for all of the birthdays and school events. I love it.”
