Andy Murray and Wife Kim’s New Honour Away From Tennis Hailed as a “Lovely Milestone” After Receiving a Michelin Guide Recommendation
Andy and Kim Murray’s Scottish hotel has recently secured another honour following its grand reopening in May 2026 after extensive refurbishment. Despite operating for just six months, the restaurant has earned recognition from the prestigious Michelin Guide. The Garden Room at the Cromlix Hotel offers a relaxed environment for guests to savour breakfast, lunch and dinner during their Scottish getaway.
Sourcing local ingredients for its menu, this restaurant is said to deliver the cosiness of a family kitchen within a five-star hotel.
Although the restaurant only launched in May 2026, it has recently gained recommendation from the Michelin Guide. This follows just two months after another Cromlix restaurant – Cradle – received the same distinction.
Expressing their delight on social media, Cromlix Hotel posted: “A little news for The Garden Room: we’ve just been added to the @michelinguide as a recommended restaurant!.
Framed by views across the sweeping front lawn, it’s a relaxed setting to enjoy thoughtful Scottish cooking, shaped by the kitchen garden and trusted local producers.
“A lovely milestone for our team – and one we’re delighted to share with our sister restaurant, @cradleatcromlix – two Cromlix restaurants now featured in the Michelin Guide.”
Highlighted as an “inspectors favourite”, the Michelin Guide commended The Garden Room for introducing a more informal atmosphere to the heritage of the main hotel building.
It stated: “Filled with natural light, it has a contemporary brasserie look and feels perfect for the modern-day country house. The menu is big on Scottish produce and grilled dishes to share, while there’s a good value set lunch too.
The likes of North Atlantic cod with peas and buttered new potatoes are free of fuss and frippery – but the well-versed, personable team still create a sense of occasion.”
This follows the announcement that Channel 4 is broadcasting a new series documenting Andy Murray and his wife Kim as they revitalise the Dunblane hotel. The pair initially acquired the estate in 2013 and have been enhancing it continuously since.
The three-part observational series, entitled Our Scottish Hotel, was captured over nearly a full year. Offering unprecedented footage of the two Michelin Key establishment, the programme will chronicle the couple and their 80-strong workforce as the hotel embarks upon its most ambitious phase to date.
Discussing the forthcoming programme, Kim remarked: “The last couple of years have been really full of change at Cromlix with a huge building project and a totally new direction for fine dining and wellness, and I was really keen to document that as there were so many personal stories and interesting discoveries along the way.”
Kim acknowledged that collaborating with her renowned husband was ‘fascinating’. She commented: “Andy and I haven’t worked on anything together before, so that was a fascinating process – and a learning curve!
“I’ve loved shaping this building and estate into what’s now become a really thriving and much-loved Scottish business. I hope people enjoy watching the show and meeting the team behind the hotel.”
A broadcast date for Our Scottish Hotel is yet to be formally confirmed.
