Emma Raducanu Shows Signs Of Positive Injury Recovery With Off-Season Fitness Update Straight From the Gym

Emma Raducanu recently gave fans a glimpse of her recovery journey with videos of her gym routine, suggesting she is making progress ahead of the new season.

Raducanu slipped and strained her left thigh in the Queen’s Club quarter-final, and during her run to the final she aggravated a pre-existing right shin problem, which was later diagnosed as a grade-four stress fracture. The injury forced her to withdraw from the Wimbledon Championships at the last moment and later ruled her out of the US Open and the Asian swing. It kept her off the court for the rest of her 2026 season. Months after navigating the pain and recovery process, Raducanu was recently seen taking off her medical walking boot and resuming light training at the National Tennis Centre in London.

She was seen doing a few jump variations and hitting a few shots on court. Sharing glimpses of her recent training sessions, she wrote:

“Omw :)) 🌶️🌶️🦂🦂 season.”

Raducanu’s 2026 season faced multiple setbacks, including her second-round loss at the Australian Open. She reached her first final since winning the 2021 US Open at the Transylvania Open but lost to Sorana Cirstea. The Brit also contracted a viral illness, which led to early exits in her next tournaments. Raducanu also exited in the first round at the French Open.

Former British No. 1 Greg Rusedski offers his opinion on Emma Raducanu’s injury

Amid Emma Raducanu’s time off the court to recover from the stress fracture in her right leg, the former British No. 1 shared his take, stressing that the break will benefit Raducanu in the long run. On his Off Court with Greg podcast, the US Open finalist said the break could help Raducanu rebuild her game, regain fitness, and become more consistent. He hoped that the 23-year-old would regain her confidence and start enjoying the sport again.

“No question about it, this is probably good for her to have this period away and keep on building her game so she can stay healthy and consistent,” Rusedski said. “I know she’s putting in the hours and the hard work and hopefully she can find that love and joy that she had in Queens before the unfortunate injury. It seems like she has a consistent team now and the women’s game in Britain in 2027 is looking like it could be a good year.”

Emma Raducanu won the 2021 US Open title as a qualifier, but has faced multiple setbacks since.
