BREAKING: Tennis Fans Left Stunned as Andy Murray Reveals Strict Career Advice for His Children and Issues a Powerful Warning: “I Had Nothing to Fall Back On”
SIR Andy Murray told how he hopes his kids have a “plan B” for their careers — because he had nothing to fall back on.
The tennis legend, 38 — snapped peeling spuds for a charity tie-up — said he was laser focused on his dream to reach the top of his sport.
But the double Wimbledon champion revealed having four children with wife Kim, 38 — Sophia, ten, Edie, eight, Teddy, six, and Lola, five — has changed his outlook.
Sir Andy said: “If I was to do it over again, I would want to have a plan B.
“Because when you’re a kid you don’t really realise that, ‘Well, what if this doesn’t work out?’.
“And for most people that go into sport, it doesn’t.
“I wouldn’t want my own kids to do that.”
The Scot spoke yesterday as he helped out at the Coronation Food Project hub in Whiteinch, Glasgow, as part of his ambassador role for Albert Bartlett Potatoes.
Surrey-based Sir Andy also served up soup as he highlighted the tatties firm’s link-up with food redistribution charities FineShare and the Felix Project.
He said: “What these charities are doing makes you feel very proud to be Scottish.
“It’s an opportunity to learn about the issues that lots of people are facing.
“I want to try to do more work like this, because what these people do for their communities is incredible.
It’s difficult and it’s sad that so many people are finding it hard to get enough food for their families.”
Sir Andy also mucked in with warehouse staff, lugging a pallet of potatoes.
Albert Bartlett sales director John Heignbottom said: “That pallet Andy was pulling has 40 bags of potations weighing a ton.
“There are 26 of those pallets on a lorry and we deliver two lorry loads a week to FareShare.”
Muzza chipped in: “I’m a roast potato man. I can’t cook them, but I like eating them.
