Kim Kardashian may have hit a roadblock in her romance with Lewis Hamilton.
According to a source, the F1 driver’s mom, Carmen Larbalestier, isn’t a fan of the reality star!
“From Carmen’s perspective, the Kardashian lifestyle isn’t something that really meshes with her son’s personality long-term,” the source tells In Touch. “She feels he’d be better off partnered with someone that’s much more low-key and private.”
Though the Skims mogul, 45, and the Ferrari racer, 41, have been friendly for over a decade, things seemingly turned romantic earlier this year.
Over the past two months, there have been sightings of the cozy couple everywhere from London and Paris to Arizona and California.
But it was Larbalestier, 70, who joined the British hunk for some overseas sightseeing ahead of the Chinese Grand Prix on Sunday, March 15, while Kardashian stayed behind to attend the Vanity Fair Oscars Party.
“Spending time with my mum has brought me so much joy,” he wrote on Instagram on March 12. “I’m heading to the track feeling so inspired and restored.
As the source notes, Hamilton is a mama’s boy through and through — so Kardashian should be worried.
“Lewis is incredibly close to his mom and her opinion carries a lot of weight with him,” says the source. “Ultimately, if she doesn’t give Kim the thumbs up, it’s hard to imagine Lewis won’t be swayed by that. He calls his mom the ‘first love’ of his life, so that should tell you everything about how much influence she has with him.”
