They’ve looked relaxed as they soak up the sun on holiday in Ibiza, but insiders say that, behind the scenes, things have been tense for David and Victoria Beckham amid the bitter fallout with their estranged son Brooklyn.

Our source explains, ‘Brooklyn and Nicola recently visited the South of France and Victoria – unbeknownst to David – was planning to approach her close friend Elton John, who has an estate in Nice, to see if he would meet with Brooklyn and try to talk some sense into him. She was orchestrating this plan and David found out.
‘He was not happy and told her to stop meddling and stirring the pot, especially while they’re supposed to be unwinding in Ibiza,’ the source continues. ‘He also feels that Elton’s involvement would only complicate things and thinks it would be a massive mistake.
After endless rumours of a Beckham family rift, Brooklyn, 27, confirmed it in January with his infamous scathing statement about his parents, in which he accused them of trying to ‘ruin’ his relationship with wife Nicola Peltz, 31.
In the months since, US-based Brooklyn and Nicola have remained estranged from his relatives while prioritising time with her family in Florida.
No Contact
Despite the consistent snubs – including from the couple’s vow renewal last August, over three years on from their wedding day – the Beckhams have extended several olive branches on social media. But even Brooklyn’s siblings, Romeo, 23, Cruz, 21, and 15-year-old Harper, are believed to have no contact with their older brother.
Meanwhile, singer Elton, 79 – a longtime friend of the Beckhams – is said to have hosted his godson Brooklyn and Nicola at a beach club in Cannes last year in a bid to ease family tensions, before being spotted having a deep conversation with the couple – who jetted off to the South of France last week – at his Oscars viewing party in March.
Our source adds that David hoped the family’s Ibiza trip would be a chance to switch off from the drama, but instead a big argument ensued.
The insider says, ‘Victoria insists she’s just trying to protect her son and fix her family, but David feels she’s putting that ahead of their peace and quiet. Instead of the relaxing, luxurious summer getaway they both desperately needed, the boat is filled with tension and silence. Victoria is completely refusing to back down, while David is at his wits’ end – leaving what should have been a dream holiday in ruins.’
