Just In: Princess Beatrice’s Husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi Finally Breaks Silence Amid Rumors of Marriage Woes — ‘It’s Completely Normal
Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, 42, has issued a brutal four-word response to critics after rumours swirled regarding the state of his marriage to Princess Beatrice, 37.
Earlier this year, a well-placed source told the Mail on Sunday the property developer was “pulling away” from his wife in the wake of her father Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s arrest in order to protect his company Banda from the controversy plaguing the family.
“Things haven’t been great for a while between them, but Beatrice has been determined to soldier on and forge a path through,” the source told the publication in March.
She wants to stay together, but he seems more and more distracted by work and travel. Just when she needs him most, he’s been pulling away.”
Now, the 42-year-old has hit back at comments regarding his work life, telling The Daily Mail it was “completely normal” to go on trips abroad to support his company.
“As you well know, it is completely normal for a business owner to travel for work,” he told the outlet.
“It happens in every industry.”
Beatrice and Mapelli Mozzi wed in 2020 at the Royal Chapel of All Saints on her father’s former estate Royal Lodge and share two daughters, Sienna, aged four, and Athena, aged one.
Mapelli Mozzi is also father to nine-year-old Christopher “Wolfie” Woolf from his previous relationship with Taiwanese-American architect Dara Huang, 43.
Beatrice, along with her sister Eugenie, 36, mother Sarah ‘Fergie’ Ferguson, 66, and father ex-prince Andrew, 66, have all appeared multiple times in the Department of Justice’s Epstein files.
Being mentioned in the documents is not proof of wrongdoing.
In February, the former Duke of York was detained for 12 hours on suspicion of misconduct in public office over documents contained within the files.
Last month, police announced they were broadening their investigation into Andrew and looking into potential sexual offences.
Furthermore, officials are investigating the former Duke of York over reports of an incident that occurred at Royal Ascot in 2002, The Sunday Times reports.
Andrew has always denied any wrongdoing.
