Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, has always stood by her ex-husband Prince Andrew, describing him as a “great man with a great heart.” The 65 year old royal married Prince Andrew in 1986 and they had two daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.

Despite their split in 1992 and divorce in 1996, they have remained close friends and continue to live together at the Royal Lodge in Windsor. Sarah expressed no regrets about their relationship in an interview with The Sunday Times newspaper, saying: “I was totally and utterly in love with Andrew. I would do it all over again, 100 per cent. ” She added: “He’s the best, a great man with a great heart, and kind.

Sarah has supported Andrew through his recent controversies, including his association with late billionaire Jeffrey Epstein and allegations made by Virginia Giuffre, one of Epstein’s trafficking victims – which he denied.

She firmly stated that she will always stand by him. Reflecting on their wedding day, she said: “Our wedding was the best day of my life. But I gave up my anonymity that day. I was able to because love conquers all. It’s still with us today.”

She continued: “I won’t let him down. He supports me as much as I support him. He’s supported me through thick and thin, not just marriage or divorce. ” She also mentioned their shared values: “We agree on the three Cs – communication, compromise, compassion.

Sarah also revealed that she made a promise to the late Queen Elizabeth to always take care of Andrew.

During her stint on the TV show ‘Loose Women’, she revealed: “We are longer divorced than married and I believe in the three c’s – communicate, compromise and compassion.

She continued, “That’s what I do with (Andrew.) We get on because, in the darkest time of my life, he was always there for me. ” She added, “In the darkest time of his life, I will be there for him. The Queen of England was there for him – his mum.

She concluded by saying, “I said to his mum before she died, ‘I will be there for him, I will help him on his journey.’ We’ve all got journeys; we just need to be there with kindness and no judgement.
