Matteo Berrettini’s ex-girlfriend Vanessa breaks silence after viral rumors that she cheated on him with Lorenzo Musetti
Matteo Berrettini’s ex-girlfriend Vanessa Bellini pulled no punches while clapping back at a troll who accused her of betraying the Italian. Bellini, a professional dancer and stage performer, recently shared a video of her performance, which garnered a lot of attention on social media.
While several lavished praise on her, a user launched a scathing attack on Bellini, pointing to speculation that she cheated on the former World No. 6 with fellow Italian Lorenzo Musetti and wrote in the comments section:
“So the plans for Berrettini are a whole scene since there are rumors going around that you betrayed him. Congrats (translated from Italian).”
Instead of staying silent, Bellini didn’t mince her words and gave a stern response to the troll and wrote:
“I tolerate all the bu*****t you say and write and I let it go (and I read a lot but I learned that this is how the world is made), but to hear that I would have betrayed Matteo really but rinse your mouth before you speak.”
The entire turmoil began with Matteo Berrettini‘s unexpected reaction when he was asked about Musetti. After the 30-year-old trounced Tomas Martin Etcheverry 6-3, 6-4 in Vienna, he was asked about Musetti’s recent Lyon Open title win.
In response, Berrettini asked, “Is this live?” before giving an awkward laugh. He then offered a measured reply: “OK. It’s okay. I know he worked really hard to come back, and I guess he deserved it.”
Vanessa Bellini’s response fuels speculation surrounding Matteo Berrettini and Lorenzo Musetti’s fallout
Matteo Berrettini and Lorenzo Musetti’s fallout rumors began when social media started to link the latter’s involvement with the 2021 Wimbledon finalist. The online speculations linked Musetti being involved with Bellini when she was in a relationship with Berrettini.
Bellini met Berrettini in June 2025 at a Marracash concert in Turin, and the couple made their romance public in October of the same year. Bellini celebrated Berrettini’s 30th birthday in April 2026 with a romantic yacht getaway. Surprisingly, the famed couple split the following month, after which Bellini shared an emotional message online about struggling behind the scenes.
Some media reports indicated that Musetti broke up with his longtime partner Veronica Confalonieri around the same time that Matteo Berrettini broke up with Bellini. Fans added fuel to the fire on social media, stating Berrettini no longer follows Musetti on Instagram. On the tennis front, Berrettini will square off against Flavio Cobolli in an all-Italian Round of 16 clash on Thursday in Vienna.
