“I’m a lady, show respect” – Canadian WTA star accuses driver of breaking her $2500 laptop, gets into huge argument after lying claims
Canadian WTA star Carson Branstine recently accused an Uber driver of breaking her $2,500 laptop. After she leveled the accusation, the 26-year-old was involved in a huge argument online after claims that she was lying began to circulate.
Branstine is best known as a tennis star and a model. The California native was born and raised in America, but she has represented Canada on the international stage since 2017. Over the course of her career, the World No. 437 has clinched seven ITF titles, having unlocked a career-high ranking of World No. 172 in 2025.
Recently, Carson Branstine took to X to share her negative experience with an Uber driver, writing,
“Dear @Uber, an Uber Black driver tossed my backpack into the trunk and broke my $2500 laptop with all of my work on it. I’m screwed for work, I’m freaking out. The AI chat bot was useless. I’d appreciate it if you’d cover the $900 repair for the worst timed inconvenience of my life.”
Responding to the WTA star, one fan dismissed her struggles and called her ‘an adult man’, writing,
“Breaking news: adult man experiences a mild inconvenience, panics, and decides the entire internet needs to hear about his $2,500 laptop. Next time, try calling support instead of throwing a public temper tantrum hoping for sympathy. Nobody asked.”
Branstine quickly hit back at the fan.
“I’m a lady. Show respect. Not throwing a tantrum. Your tweet is more emotional than anything I said and you have way too much time on your hands to reply to something that isn’t relevant to you,” she wrote.
The Canadian’s response left fans divided, with some accusing the tennis star of lying about her gender, while others questioned her personal responsibility about the matter at hand.
