Just In: Rafael Nadal’s new job as tennis legend’s telling behaviour is brought up
Rafael Nadal cited the work ethic instilled in him by his father as he opened up about his latest business venture. The tennis icon is one of the greatest players in the sport’s history, with 22 Grand Slam titles and 36 Masters 100 honours to his name.
Since retiring from tennis in 2024, the Spaniard has kept busy in business, making numerous investments and launching companies himself. One venture that Nadal, 40, created was the sports nutrition and food supplement brand NDL Pro-Health, in partnership with Cantabria Labs. The brand recently launched a new creative product in gummy form, with Nadal opening up about his entrepreneurial endeavours and the impact his father Sebastian has had on him.
Speaking with CNBC, the legendary sportsman said he’s followed the example his father set throughout his life. Nadal said: “My father was a very positive role model for me in terms of dedication and hard work. Since I was a child, I saw him work incredibly hard; he managed to build the largest glass company in the Balearic Islands, starting from scratch.
“His determination has been a great inspiration to me.” While it was Nadal’s uncle Toni who trained him in tennis since childhood, the former player now works with his father at Aspermir, a business firm that manages Nadal’s matters. Opening up about their partnership, the former player admitted: “It’s fantastic working (with him) because I keep learning a lot.”
The Spaniard enjoyed a 23-year professional career and a life dedicated to tennis meant Nadal needed to occupy his time once his athletic days were over. He explained: “I’m not the kind of person who likes waking up in the morning without knowing what to do. I need to have goals in my life.
According to NDL Health’s website: “It is a dietary supplement brand that appeals to anyone looking to build a routine of healthy habits and lead an active lifestyle.” Their newest creatine gummy supplement is one of several products they’ve created, which they say “combines creatine and vitamin B6 in an innovative gummy format designed to help you incorporate supplementation into your daily routine in a convenient and practical way.”
Nadal’s days as a professional athlete may be over, but that hasn’t stopped him from competing in sport, namely in golf. A keen player on the green, he’s entered several amateur tournaments since ending his tennis career and last month defended his title at the Golf Club Son Servera in Mallorca.
