“Lewis Steps In!” — Lewis Hamilton Reportedly Has a “Rescue Plan” for North West After Her Recent Behaviour Sparks Concern, Raising Fresh Questions About His Growing Role in Her Life

His relationship with one of the world’s most famous women took fans by surprise – but despite raising eyebrows, Lewis Hamilton’s romance with Kim Kardashian looks to be the real deal.

The Formula One megastar has dated a string of famous and famously beautiful women, but is now said to be captivated by the reality queen and there’s even talk of the two starting a family of their own.

But until then, insiders say the racing driver is pulling into pole position as a supportive ‘stepdad’ to Kim’s brood – and he’s already stepping in to help her eldest daughter, North West, who is determined to become a major star with her debut single ‘Piercing on My Hand’.

North, who is 13, has faced a barrage of criticism for her edgy style and most recently, her collection of dermal piercings – with jewellery embedded into the skin on her fingers and hands – has sparked concern among worried fans and been condemned by some experts who warn she could be scarred.

Our insider tells Closer, ‘Kim wants Lewis to be a big part of the kids’ lives and, right now, North is the one who needs the most support because she’s throwing herself headfirst into this big showbiz career.

‘She’s doing incredibly well despite some of the negativity that she gets online. Lewis is no stranger to being on the end of an online backlash himself, so he has this rescue plan for her and is constantly reminding her not to lose sight of her goals. He loves that she’s carving out her own unique path, but of course, there are a lot of pitfalls ahead of her, and as someone who can see the bigger picture, he can’t help wanting to guide her through them.

‘He’s very careful not to overstep the boundaries because he wants to be respectful to Kanye, but he’s become one of North’s biggest cheerleaders. He’s always telling her how proud he is of what she’s achieving and, whenever she needs it, he’s there with a pep talk or some advice about handling the pressures that come with success.”

Lewis has spoken before about his desire to have a family. In an interview with The Times in 2017, the F1 legend – who regularly posts pics of himself with his godson and is very close to his niece and nephews – said that the only thing stopping him would be the demands of his career.

I’m not even in a relationship, but I love kids, and I know I want kids. If anything, the amount I want is growing.

‘My heart melts when I’m around them. I look forward to that stage of my life. But what I have witnessed of friends who are not always able to be around because of commitments – I already struggle with my dogs. I can’t have them with me all the time. Travelling is very, very difficult for them. It’s strenuous on your heart to be away from them.

‘Hopefully, I think I’ll be fortunate enough to be in a position where I don’t have to be [away], particularly in the early stages of their life.’

A source previously told Closer that Kim was open to the idea of having another baby with Lewis, saying, ‘Kim’s long friendship with Lewis is what makes this so different for her. Lewis was upfront and said he didn’t want to risk that for something casual.

Meanwhile, our insider says that it’s not just North that Lewis has formed a supportive bond with.

‘He’s really fantastic with all the kids, which of course totally melts Kim’s heart. He came with them on their annual family summer vacation to the lake in Idaho for the July 4 holiday, and it could not have gone better. Kim told everyone they all had the most incredible time, and she says Lewis was a big part of what made it so fun.

‘He was all in on playing with the kids and being really present for them. Kim says he’s a total natural with them, nothing is forced, and he genuinely seems to get a kick out of them, which is such a huge relief for her because trying to date as a single mom of four kids is not easy, even when you are Kim Kardashian!

‘She says finding someone who excites her but is also happy to fit into her family and play a stepdad role to her kids, kind of feels like a miracle, she definitely prayed for it.’

And the source says that by winning over the affections of North, who is set to go on her debut music tour this August, Lewis has easily fitted in with the family dynamic. He’s also said to have been accepted by Kim’s ex and the father of her children, rapper Kanye West.

‘North is by far the toughest one of the kids to win over, and she sets the tone for the rest of them,’ says the insider. ‘So the fact that she likes Lewis is a massive relief. It also helps that Kanye isn’t making any issues for them and has actually come round to the idea and given his approval.

‘He wasn’t so easy going about it at first, because he and Lewis were friends way back when, but he’s moved past all of that, thankfully. Having him accept that Lewis and Kim are together, and actually be somewhat positive about it, makes a huge difference to how North reacts because she’s such a daddy’s girl.

‘She’s accepted that Kanye has moved on with Bianca and actually really likes her, and now she’s bonding with Lewis too. Kim loves that North has got another person in the world who’s looking out for her and supporting her.

‘It doesn’t hurt that Lewis is one of the most admired race car drivers in the world. North acts pretty nonchalant about that, but every once in a while she drops her too-cool teenager act, and Kim says she can tell she’s actually impressed by Lewis!’
