“This Changes Everything” — Tennis Fans Left Heartbroken as Andy Murray Drops a Stunning Announcement About Tennis, Leaving Supporters Shocked and Fearing a Major Turning Point for the British Legend
Two years after retiring, Andy Murray doesn’t hide his relief: the former world No.1 insists he doesn’t miss tennis one bit. Between golf, family, and coaching Jack Draper, the Brit is fully enjoying his new life.
Andy Murray is making the most of his retirement. Two years after ending his professional career, the Briton has admitted he feels no longing for tennis whatsoever.
A three-time Grand Slam champion and former world No.1, Murray hung up his racket in 2024 after a career marked by numerous successes, but also by injuries during his final years on tour.
Asked about his relationship with tennis since retiring, the Scot was particularly clear.
“No, I have no interest in tennis, and I’m very happy about that. I don’t miss tennis at all,” he told BBC Sport Scotland.
Murray also explained that he now rarely picks up a racket. The only exception is his work with Jack Draper, whom he currently mentors.
‘I’m simply enjoying life away from sport’
Aside from that role, the former world No.1 is mostly savouring the time he can now devote to his family and other passions.
“I almost never pick up a racket, except when it’s needed during training sessions. I’m simply enjoying life away from sport: I play golf, I spend time with my family, and I do the same things as everyone else,” he said.
A statement that may come as a surprise from a player who devoted most of his life to tennis. But after several particularly tough physical years and a career spanning nearly two decades at the highest level, Murray appears to be relishing this new chapter away from the pressure of competition.
