The latest update on Carlos Alcaraz’s US Open plans
According to Spanish outlet Marca, Alcaraz has been reserved one of the US Open mixed doubles wildcard spots in case he chooses to travel to New York for the tournament.
The US Open will feature the mixed doubles format that was newly revamped last year, with the world’s biggest singles stars making up the entry list for the event.
Pairs for the event include Novak Djokovic and Aryna Sabalenka, Elena Rybakina and Taylor Fritz, as well as Jessica Pegula and Jack Draper.
Alcaraz played alongside Emma Raducanu in mixed doubles at last year’s US Open, but neither player is on the entry list this time around.
The US Open organisers reserve the right to award eight wildcards, and Alcaraz would be eligible for one if he decides to play.

The two went face to face with Pegula and Draper, who formed a strong partnership together.
Pegula and Draper defeated Alcaraz and Raducanu in straight sets, winning 4-2, 4-2 in front of a rapturous crowd at Arthur Ashe Stadium.
The mixed doubles competition was ultimately won by Sara Errani and Andrea Vavassori, who beat the duo of Iga Swiatek and Casper Ruud.
