Just In: Former Formula 1 Boss Sends Shockwaves Through the Paddock with Unexpected Lewis Hamilton and Kim Kardashian Remarks

Former Formula 1 team principal Otmar Szafnauer has caused a stir by comparing Lewis Hamilton to his girlfriend, Kim Kardashian, in his discussion of the contrasting styles of Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen.

Outside the racetrack, Szafnauer commended Verstappen’s work ethic, but hinted that Hamilton is more concerned with his image during Formula 1 weekends.

The comments have already attracted a lot of attention on social media, with fans split on the former Alpine boss’s opinion of the seven-time world champion.

Szafnauer Compares Verstappen and Hamilton

Szafnauer began by highlighting Verstappen’s dedication, claiming the reigning world champion is usually the first person to arrive at the circuit.

Former F1 boss said, “Who is the first to arrive at the circuit? Verstappen. He is always the first.”

The former team boss then compared that to Hamilton’s, saying the Ferrari driver likes to show up after the photographers have already set up.

Szafnauer added, “Lewis Hamilton, on the other hand, only arrives once all the photographers are there, so he can put on his clothes and have pictures taken of himself.”

Szafnauer then made a lighthearted remark involving Kardashian. He said, “And he’ll probably get help from Kim Kardashian with that.”

The comments sparked instant online response, especially as Hamilton and Kardashian have been making headlines every week in Formula 1.

Hamilton’s Style Has Become Part of His F1 Identity

Hamilton has always had a keen interest in fashion and has often been spotted wearing daring outfits from top fashion designers in the Formula 1 paddocks. He has also been one of the most recognizable names in the sport outside of racing over the last ten years, attending events like the Met Gala and working with big fashion brands.

Meanwhile, Verstappen has established a reputation for his different approach. The Dutchman has been known to keep his eyes on the prize, spending a lot of his free time sim racing or working on Verstappen Racing’s GT program.

Whether fans like Szafnauer’s opinion or not, his comments have again brought to light the various careers that the sport’s top stars pursue outside of the cockpit, one that focuses on preparation for performance and another that embraces a wider celebrity image and racing.
