Just In: Queen Camilla shares heartbreaking family story in latest engagement
Queen Camilla on Wednesday marked the 40th anniversary to the founding of Royal Osteoporosis Society, a charity organization dedicated to improving the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of osteoporosis.
Royal family’s social media accounts shared multiple pictures of the queen, the president of the charity, meeting patients and staff on the occasion.
Osteoporosis is a known as silent bone disease where bones become weak, significantly increasing the risk of fractures.
The royal family’s Instagram post also contained a personal story shared by Queen Camilla.
She said: “My family and I had little, or nom understanding of this devastating disease and were determined to discover more about it.
We failed to comprehend how our mother could suffer so much pain, lose inches in height and yet find no available treatment for the doctors.
The terrible problem being that osteoporosis is a silent thief hiding in plain sight. It wreaks its havoc deep inside our bodies until, too late, we realize that the damage has been done.
