Just In: King Charles, Princess Anne receive sad news a day before Peter Phillips wedding

King Charles, Princess Anne and other members of the royal family have received a sad news a day before Peter Phillips wedding on Saturday, June 6.

Lady Pamela Hicks, the close relative of King Charles, has sadly died at the age of 97, her daughter has announced on Friday.

Lady Pamela was the daughter of Lord Louis Mountbatten and the first cousin of Prince Philip, the late Duke of Edinburgh.

She was also the childhood friend of late Queen Elizabeth II, the mother of King Charles and Princess Anne.

Lady Pamela’s daughter India Hicks took to Instagram and shared the sad news.

India Hicks shared the photo of Lady Pamela and said, “My mother died peacefully today.

“Whilst there is no tragedy in the death of a 97-year-old who has lived a full life I know grief will be unavoidable, lurking around waiting for me, but today I am simply grateful that she was my Mother. And through the prism of a crowded and remarkable past, she made incomparable company, carrying her memories lightly, and always with humour.

She continued, “My mother maintained right up to the end, the impeccable style, sharp mind, and effortless charm that made her not only a cherished institution, but truly the last of her kind.”

The sad news for the royal family came a day before Peter Phillips wedding on Saturday, June 6. He will tie the knot with Harriet Sperling in a private ceremony in England
