William, Kate plan royal shakeup: ‘When Archie tells pals ‘my grandpa was King he’ll hardly have known him’
Prince William and Kate Middleton are currently awaiting their time before the next Coronation date is scheduled and an insider has just warned of the consequences that await some members of the family once that does come to pass.
For those unversed with who those family members may be, royal author Tom Quinn dubs the Duke and Duchess of Sussex on the first list.
In his eyes, “Meghan does miss some aspects of life in the UK and worries that her children will blame her if they never get to see their cousins and feel as adults that they have been deprived of what might have been a fun and meaningful existence in the UK.”
This is also a sentiment echoed by specialist in UK Constitutional Law, Dr Craig Prescott because while talking to the Daily Express they said, “It’s certainly a possibility that Prince William, when King, may wish to look at the 1917 Letters Patent, and consider whether Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet should retain their titles.”
After all “we now have the precedent of the ‘Princely status’ being removed from someone with Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, which shows that it could be done. We have moved towards a monarchy where titles and HRH status are increasingly connected to conducting public duties, and Prince William, when King, may wish to further that connection.”
Even former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond is in agreement and according to the same outlet has said, “Imagine Archie, aged 15, telling his friends, ‘My grandpa is/was King! And my Uncle is/will be King too.’ But he hardly knew or met them. How sad… and Meghan would have to bear the brunt of the responsibility for that
