Just In: Heartbreak for Princess Kate’s sister Pippa as she ‘admits huge loss after selling off her £1.3m zoo’

Princess Catherine’s sister Pippa Middleton has sold her petting zoo Bucklebury Farm. Pippa and her husband James Matthews have reportedly sold the Berkshire property, which was worth around £1.3 million.

This comes after the couple, who brought the property in 2021, struggled to turn it into a profitable family attraction. The 72-acre farm was also hit with some negativity from locals.

However, it has also been revealed that the business brought about financial losses.

Harriet Kean for The Daily Mail revealed that the farm was hit by six-figure losses every year.

In 2025, there was a reported debt of £807,543.

While Pippa and her husband tried to turn things around, and even submitted plans to build a nursery on the site, the plans were unsuccessful.

The Daily Mail reports that this is because there were concerns about congestion issues, specifically from the local highways authority.

While Pippa and her husband tried to plead that the nursery would enable the farm to remain “open to the public”, their application was refused.

The couple’s farm was also hit with criticism from locals, including over prices to visit the farm.

The Daily Mail reports that a representative for the couple confirmed they no longer have any ownership or involvement in the site
