Just In: Palace insider slaps down claim Kate and Prince William have been left ‘alarmed and unsettled’ by backlash
A Palace insider has rubbished claims that Princess Kate and Prince William have been left unsettled by mounting anger from Windsor residents over an extensive security perimeter established around their new home.
A barrier stretching six miles now surrounds their Forest Lodge property, featuring fencing fitted with surveillance cameras and warning signs prohibiting entry.
The security measures have carved through Windsor Great Park, blocking public access to areas that were previously open to visitors.
Some local residents have voiced outrage at the disruption to their daily routines, with many claiming they were caught off guard by the restrictions.
A convenient road that previously cut through the park has been permanently shut, forcing those living nearby to travel significantly longer distances for routine journeys.
Horse riders have also raised objections to limitations placed on their riding routes, though they have reportedly refrained from lodging formal complaints due to their dependence on the Crown Estate for access permits to the 4,800-acre park.
Those most directly affected say there have been “zero” attempts by Palace officials to engage with them or address the growing controversy.
A source told the Mail that the furious reaction has left the Prince and Princess of Wales “alarmed” but this has been disputed by a Palace insider.
Neighbours have expressed feeling “ambushed” into accepting the new arrangements without prior consultation or warning.
