15 Minutes Ago: Revolution at Buckingham Palace As Princess Charlotte’s secret is revealed
A great stir has once again arisen around Buckingham Palace, after one of Princess Charlotte’s best-kept secrets has come to light. According to reports, in the future, the little girl will enjoy a very special privilege.
It is no secret to anyone the great collection of jewels owned by the British royal family, a jewelry box that Queen Elizabeth II wore at all her public events. However, after her passing, these jewels have ended up in the hands of Queen Camilla and Kate Middleton.
As The Sun pointed out a few months ago, this collection was divided into two parts. On one hand, there were the jewels that are part of the Crown’s heritage. In addition, there are those that belonged to Elizabeth’s private collection.
This jewelry box consisted of about 200 pieces valued at hundreds of millions of euros. Among them were 98 brooches, 34 pairs of earrings, 14 watches, 46 necklaces, 15 rings, and five pendants.
As queen consort, Camilla was the first to choose and was able to select the most valuable pieces. However, despite her slight disadvantage, Kate Middleton also received some of Elizabeth II’s most significant jewels.
In fact, as of today, the Princess of Wales has in her possession a total of ten pieces whose value is estimated at 81 million euros. This collection, in the future, will almost entirely be inherited by Princess Charlotte. This is a privilege that Prince Harry’s children will not have.
Princess Charlotte will inherit much of Queen Elizabeth II’s personal jewelry box in the future
Unlike what will happen with Prince Harry’s children, Princess Charlotte will be the heiress to much of the personal jewelry that belonged to Elizabeth II. Although Meghan Markle did receive a piece, it can’t be compared to the great jewelry box owned by Kate Middleton.
Among the most notable jewels that Princess Charlotte will inherit is the Hyderabad necklace, one of Queen Elizabeth II’s favorites. This piece became part of her collection in 1947, when the Nizam of Hyderabad gave it to her on the occasion of her wedding.
This jewel, which now belongs to Kate Middleton, was made in 1935 by Cartier and is composed of more than 50 large diamonds arranged in floral motifs.
Another highly valuable jewel that Princess Charlotte will one day inherit is the George VI Festoon necklace. This piece was worn by her mother in the official photographs after Charles III’s coronation.
This design is made up of three diamond chains and its value is estimated at about €2.8 million ($3.04 million). In addition, there are leaf-shaped earrings with a matching brooch, whose price is around €45,000 ($48,900).
