What exactly did Blake Lively say about Kate Middleton?
The actress, known for her role in Gossip Girl, had to say sorry for a “silly post” before the Princess of Wales’ cancer announcement. Blake found herself in trouble after making a joke about Princess Catherine’s whereabouts before the Princess shared that she has cancer. Last week, the Princess of Wales finally talked about where she has been after all the rumors and hushed talk about why she was absent.
All this happened following abdominal surgery at The London Clinic earlier this year. Before she shared her cancer diagnosis, Princess Kate was all over social media because a Mother’s Day picture she posted got a “kill notification” due to “manipulations” and parts of the picture that had been changed.
This brought on a ton of chat on social media, with famous folk getting involved to talk about it. One of the celebs who spoke up was Blake Lively, but others like Kim Kardashian also had their say. Lively, 36, shared a now-deleted post on her Instagram on March 15. The post was a plug for her drink line, Betty Buzz, and seemed to make fun of the future Queen.
Seen next to a pool with a drink in her hand, the picture showed a big thumb and a lemon floating above her head. She wrote excitedly: “I’m so excited to share this new photo I just took today to announce our 4 new @bettybuzz and @bettybooze products! Now you know why I’ve been MIA.”
After Kate’s news and the trouble Blake got into, the actress said sorry on social media. She shared: “I’m sure no one cares today, but I feel like I have to acknowledge this,” she admitted. “I made a silly post around the ‘Photoshop fails’ frenzy, and oh man, that post has me mortified today. I’m sorry. Sending love and well wishes to all, always.”
But even with her big sorry, some people are still upset with Blake for not sharing her kids’ names or if they’re boys or girls, while making fun of Kate for wanting to keep things private after her belly surgery. And under her latest Instagram picture, which she posted after getting rid of the Photoshop joke, people were not happy.
One person said online: “That was a cruddy apology,” “You tried to use another woman’s trauma to sell cocktails. And now you are mortified.” Someone else added: “That’s one pathetic ‘apology’. Pride comes before a fall. Don’t be surprised by the backlash.
