She’s right to be worried: Kate Middleton banned William from seeing old…
Since their first met at St Andrews University in 2001, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have come a long way. The world watched as they celebrated milestone after milestone, from their graduation in 2005 to their wedding in 2011 and to welcoming their children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis into the family. Despite being together for such a long time, it is clear the two are still deeply in love.
Commenting on their most recent outing at Wimbledon, body language expert Judy James said: “The body distance and touch-free behavior combined with the intense and mutual eye-gaze and wide, amused-looking smiles suggest strong ties of friendship as well as their bonds as a married couple. William’s wide grin suggests Kate enhances his life and lifts his mood.
Their journey to blissful marriage though, has not always been so smooth, but rather full of ups and downs before they married in 2011.
In 2007, the couple split for a couple of months, as William reportedly started feeling “claustrophobic” in the relationship.
Tensions also arose in 2010, when Kate reportedly banned Prince William from seeing his old flame, Jessica Craig.
Raised in Kenya, where she attended a posh boarding school, Ms Craig is an environmental activist who founded two charities – Panthera (which protects cats) and Stop Ivory.
The Duke of Cambridge is said to have dated Jessica after meeting her way back in 2000 while taking a gap year in Kenya.
According to a report by Daily Star, Kate hit the roof when William told her he wanted to go to Africa to support her charity and banned him from going.
A friend close to the couple told the publication in 2010: “Jessica is hosting a charity marathon across the family wildlife estate and he [William] wanted to be there.
“You can imagine how she [Kate] felt.”
The source added: “Kate is seriously worried and so should be. Jessica is a knock-out.
However, the Duchess of Cambridge reportedly could not believe her eyes when she first met William’s old flame.
She apparently told one friend: “She looks just like me
But a bit sort of raunchier.”
It is not clear whether William ended up going to the charity event, but the tensions apprently diffused the following year.
Jessica was a guest – along with her then boyfriend – at William and Kate’s grand royal wedding.
