King opens up on his connection to Scotland as he set to miss Harry’s return to London

King Charles has opened up on his connection to Scotland as he is set to miss out on reuniting with his son in London today.

The monarch has been spending time in Scotland this month and issued a statement addressing the Scottish Parliament on its 25th anniversary over the weekend.

He said: “My late mother especially treasured the time spent at Balmoral, and it was there, in the most beloved of places, where she chose to spend her final days.”

King Charles also said that Scotland “always had a uniquely special place in the hearts of my family and myself.
It comes as Prince Harry is scheduled to make an appearance at the WellChild Awards in London on Monday.

A source told the Express that a meeting between the two royals is not expected to go ahead.

The Duke of Sussex would need to head to Scotland after his engagement in order to see his father.

They said: “There are no official plans in the diary to see the King and it is unlikely that they will meet due to simple geography.

It comes as Queen Camilla has warned King Charles against meeting with Prince Harry, according to a source.
In February, the father and son held a 45-minute meeting at Clarence House after Harry rushed back to the country of his birth following the news the monarch had been diagnosed with cancer.

Harry has made two trips to the UK since then, including in August for his uncle’s funeral, but has not seen King Charles during either of them.
The King’s wife Queen Camilla does not want the monarch to hold a meeting with his son, according to an insider.

King Charles is still receiving treatment for an undisclosed form of cancer.

They told the Daily Beast: “She has been the principal voice urging Charles to slow down and take things easy.

“The last thing she wants him to do is to get stressed out over a meeting with Harry.”
The Duke of Sussex is not expected to meet with any senior members of the Royal Family during his time in the UK.
