King Charles has seemingly left his well-wishers in tears with a heartfelt gesture.
For the unversed, a heartwarming letter written by little Charles to his father Prince Philip has been sold at an auction.
As per Express, the monarch penned the sweet handwritten note when his father and the Queen were in Australia for an eight-week tour in 1954.
The letter was written on Buckingham Palace paper, which dated March 2, 1954.
The then-prince note reads, “Dear Papa, I am longing to see you in the ship. Love from Charles.”
Notably, the special letter was “sold for £5,700 including fees at International Autograph Auctions, in Malaga, Spain.”
Moreover, auctioneer Richard Davie said, “It is quite extraordinary for letters of British monarchs written at such a young age to appear at auction.”
He added, “The only other similar example that I have offered previously was a letter written by Queen Victoria at the age of seven.”
It is important to mention that these comments came after King Charles paid respect to the Oscar-winning stage and screen actress Dame Maggie Smith, who took her last at the age of 89 on Friday.
