Thanasi Kokkinakis splits with model girlfriend after she ‘refused to become a…

Thanasi Kokkinakis has split with his girlfriend of 18 months.

The Australian tennis star had been dating model and influencer Hannah Dal Sasso, who was seen in his box at Wimbledon this summer.

But the pair have now called it quits, with eagle-eyed fans noticing they recently unfollowed each other on Instagram.

It comes just months after Dal Sasso insisted she didn’t want to be known as a WAG. In May, she told the Herald Sun: “I know in footy there are so many girlfriends and they get called WAGs, but in tennis there aren’t many and you never really see someone called that.
“I like having my own name and not being someone else’s partner.”

The world No. 78 and the Melbourne-based content creator spent most of their relationship doing long distance, with Dal Sasso joining Kokkinakis when she could.

She added: “We just had a nice month together and I already miss him – long distance is really hard. Thanasi is really dedicated to his tennis and he’s putting everything into it and I’m so proud of him.

Kokkinakis and Dal Sasso, who also owns an online clothing-hire company, Styled By Mim, first went public in March 2023 at Glamour on the Grid – the F1 Australian Grand Prix launch party event.

A few months later, at the French Open, the former Australian Open doubles champion revealed he had never had a girlfriend before. After getting his first career win at Roland Garros, he admitted Dal Sasso was his “first girlfriend, probably ever”.

He continued: “[I’m a] late bloomer, I guess you could say, so I’m trying that, but that brings its challenges as well. But she has been great.

Kokkinakis already appeared to be single when he upset 11th seed Stefanos Tsitsipas in the first round of the US Open last month. The Aussie came through 7-6(5) 4-6 6-3 7-5.

After getting the biggest win of his Grand Slam career, the 28-year-old said: “Super happy, super pumped. It’s been well documented I’ve had some tight ones, but I’m starting to get on the winning side of them now.”

Fellow Australian tennis player Max Purcell raised eyebrows when he commented on Kokkinakis’ celebratory Instagram post, trying to catch someone’s attention. “@sydney_sweeney tell me you saw that?” the two-time doubles Grand Slam champion wrote.
