Prince William gives 12-word update on Princess Kate following video announcement
The Prince of Wales gave a new update regarding his wife, Princess Kate’s recovery from cancer during today’s engagement in South Wales.
Prince William visited Swiss Valley Community Primary School in Llanelli where he was greeted by crowds who patiently waited outside of the school for his arrival, which took place just a few hours after the Princess of Wales’s latest announcement regarding her health.
The future King was given cards and gifts for his wife, while he also gave a new 12-word update about how she is doing.
He told Pauline Thomas, a 74-year-old wellwisher who asked him about Kate: “It’s good news but there is still a long way to go.
The prince also sparked laughter when, during his walkabout, a child told him had a bug on him.
William asked the young boy, who was a sea cadet, if he wanted to keep it, and handed it to him.
He said: “Good spot, it must have followed me here.”
During today’s school visit, the heir to the throne met with pupils who took part in the 2024 Urdd Eisteddfod – a week-long festival celebrating Welsh language and culture.
One of the pupils he met was 10-year-old Ruby Davies, a second-language Welsh learner, who went viral earlier this year for her enthusiastic Eisteddfod win in the individual recital category.
Ruby handed the prince a book of postcards written by the students and gave him friendship bracelets for his children.
William told her: “I’ve watched your video a few times Ruby. You did brilliantly, you don’t seem nervous about performing on stage at all.
She replied that she was “a little bit” but also said she was “really excited”.
The royal added: “It was very impressive, you’re going to have to teach me how to speak Welsh.
