Royal Family LIVE: Prince Harry and Meghan’s pals turn on them after ‘outrageous’ move

Former friends of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have criticised the couple over their public comments about the Royal Family, with one stating “I can’t believe he’d stoop so low”.

The couple stepped away from their roles within the monarchy in 2020 and settled in Montecito, California where they live with their two children, Prince Archie, five and Princess Lilibet, three.

Since then, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have opened up about their private life within the Royal Family through an interview with TV host Oprah Winfrey, Harry’s bombshell memoir, Spare, and a Netflix docuseries titled ‘Harry & Meghan’.

The Times spoke to several former friends of the Duke of Sussex ahead of his 40th birthday next month. One said: “I can’t believe he’d stoop so low. It’s outrageously disloyal. Oprah, Netflix and then the book? Three strikes and you’re out.”

Another added: “He’s an angry boy. Things haven’t turned out how he wanted. I think he misses being over here [in Britain] desperately and wants to be admired more.”

A third told the publication: “Harry and Meghan could have left with dignity and decency and not trashed the institution.The conclusion is they’ve made money from trashing his family.
