Bastad finalists Nuno Borges and Rafael Nadal, Gstaad champion Matteo Berrettini, and Hamburg winner Arthur Fils are among the big movers in this week’s ATP Rankings update.
In a week where only a select few top-20 players were in action, there were not too many changes towards the top of the ATP Rankings.
However, there were some significant moves elsewhere
The Big Movers
One of the week’s biggest stories was Nadal’s run in Bastad, with the 38-year-old reaching a first final since the 2022 French Open final – and a 131st career final overall.
The Spaniard seemed to run out of gas in a straight-sets loss to Borges on Sunday but has still moved up back into the top 200, leaping 100 spots to world No 161.
There was also good news for Portuguese star Borges, who claimed his first ATP title in the final.
Victory at the ATP 250 event has seen the 27-year-old jump up nine spots to a new career-high of world No 42, with Borges looking primed for a top-40 debut at some point this season.
Elsewhere, Berrettini picked up the second title of his season in Gstaad and is now ranked back inside the top 50 of the rankings.
The Italian fell outside the top 80 after a round two loss at Wimbledon though, after beating Stefanos Tsitsipas in the semi-final and Quentin Halys in the final, he moved up 32 spots to world No 50 on Monday.
Beaten finalist Halys has also surged up the ranking thanks to his run, leaping 67 places to world No 125.
A tense Hamburg final saw rising French star Fils claim the biggest title of his career, downing home favourite and defending champion Alexander Zverev in a third-set tiebreak.
Triumph at the ATP 500 event has seen Fils move eight spots to world No 20 – a new career-high and top-20 debut.
Also moving up eight spots is American ace Marcos Giron, who saved a championship point to beat Alex Michelsen and claim his first ATP title in Newport.
Giron jumps up eight places to a new career-high ranking of world No 38, while Michelsen stays at world No 61 after defending finalist points from last year.
The biggest fall inside the top 100 is Zizou Bergs, who dropped 14 places to world No 87, while Sumit Nagal has dropped 12 spots to world No 80.
Inside the top 20
The biggest change inside the top 20 comes inside the lower end of the top 10, where world No 8 Casper Ruud and world No 9 Andrey Rublev have swapped places.
Both men failed to match their runs to the Bastad final last season but with defending champion Rublev losing more points, he has slipped behind his Norwegian rival.
Elsewhere, world No 16 Holger Rune and No 17 Lorenzo Musetti have swapped places, as have world No 18 Sebastian Baez and No 19 Felix Auger-Aliassime.
Jannik Sinner still sits at the top of the rankings, ahead of world No 2 Novak Djokovic and world No 3 Carlos Alcaraz.
