‘No question’ – Emma Raducanu hopes revealed after injury absence

‘No question’ – Emma Raducanu hopes revealed after injury absence

Greg Rusedski backs Emma Raducanu to bounce back in 2027 despite suffering another setback in her injury recovery.

The British tennis star had a strong start to the summer as she made the final of Queen’s; however, she has not played on the WTA Tour since.

The 23-year-old has not been on the court since, and pulled out of Wimbledon on the eve of the tournament due to a lower leg stress fracture.

It means she has fallen from world No.31 in the WTA rankings after her Queen’s run down to No.106, which is not high enough to guarantee entry into all WTA 1000 tournaments.

Raducanu’s recovery

Raducanu has recently returned to the practice court at the National Tennis Centre in London and posted a short clip of herself serving on social media.

The former US Open champion is now British No.5 and was recently surpassed by Harriet Dart following her victory in the Guangzhou Open final.

However, Rusedski believes that Raducanu will bounce back in the next calendar year.

The former British No1 said on ‘Off the Court with Greg Rusedski: “No question about it, this is probably good for her to have this period away and keep on building her game so she can stay healthy and consistent.

“I know she’s putting in the hours and the hard work and hopefully she can find that love and joy that she had in Queens before the unfortunate injury.

“It seems like she has a consistent team now and the women’s game in Britain in 2027 is looking like it could be a good year.

“There are a little bit of question marks on the men’s side with their health.

“Athur Fery has been the one to kind of save this year for British men’s tennis, without his result at Wimbledon and his breakthrough this year, it wouldn’t be such a good picture.

Norrie has been an amazing career top ten player, Jack Draper we know his potential so I hope in 2027 we are not talking about injuries especially with Brits.

“Please… all healthy and all playing week in, week out.”

Is 2027 the year of British tennis?

Raducanu has seemingly decided to call it a season and is not on the entry list for any tournaments remaining in 2026.

Additionally, Jack Draper has also suffered from a plethora of issues, especially regarding his hip and shoulder.

Draper is also expected to return to the ATP Tour at the start of 2027, with his first tournament yet to be confirmed
