Emma Raducanu Leaves Fans Heartbroken as Fears Grow That Her 2026 Season May Be Over — A Painful Twist in Her Fight to Return Stronger
Emma Raducanu has seemingly decided to call it a season and focus on fully recovering for the 2027 season since she is not on the entry list for any tournaments remaining in 2026.
In the first week of the grass season, Raducanu reached the Queen’s final before losing to Donna Vekic. Unfortunately, the 23-year-old Briton also picked up a stress fracture in her right leg.
As a result, Raducanu skipped Eastbourne and Nottingham. Then, a week before the start of Wimbledon, it was reported that the British tennis star was spotted wearing a protective boot.
And just before the start of Wimbledon, she announced that she wouldn’t be able to compete at The Championships.
Raducanu hasn’t played since nor made any public comments
After skipping Wimbledon, the former world No. 10 also quietly removed herself from all North American hard-court tournaments, including the US Open. Also, the Briton made herself unavailable for the Billie Jean King Cup Finals.
And after also missing the start of the Asian swing and not being signed up for any of the upcoming events, it seems likely that Raducanu won’t play again in 2026.
What did Raducanu say when announcing her Wimbledon withdrawal?
“I can’t believe I’m saying this, but sadly I’ve had to withdraw from this year’s Wimbledon,” the British tennis star said when announcing her Wimbledon withdrawal.
“I’ve done everything possible to try to get to the start line tomorrow but after a final scan tonight, the niggle I’ve been managing has developed into a stress fracture and I’ve been medically advised to stop pushing through. Playing at Wimbledon, in front of a home crowd, means everything to me, so this is really difficult to process.”
Raducanu also ended her 2025 season early due to illness and lower-back issues.
