Kim Kardashian Makes a Shocking Confession as She Admits She Needed to “Completely Heal” Before Dating Again: “I Was Really Single for 5 Years”

Kim Kardashian is reflecting on singlehood.

In a new interview with The Sunday Times’ Style magazine, published Oct. 4, the SKIMS co-founder, 45, looked back on the years she was single after splitting from her ex-husband Kanye West and before meeting her boyfriend Lewis Hamilton.

“I was really single for five years,” she told the U.K. publication. “And that felt great. I could focus on my kids and projects that I really wanted to be involved with.”

“I really felt no rush. Like, I really didn’t feel empty,” she continued. “I felt like I needed my time. I wanted to completely heal and just work on myself. I wasn’t ready to open up. I really wasn’t even thinking about it. The universe works in your favor when you just allow it to.”

The outlet also asked Kardashian about talking about her relationship with F1 driver Hamilton, 41, to which she responded, “In the most respectful way, I’d probably rather not.”

Since first being linked in February 2026 when they were spotted having a “romantic meetup” in Paris, the pair have vacationed together in Tokyo with Kardashian’s four children and been spotted riding bikes in London, while Kardashian also supported Hamilton at the Monaco Grand Prix.

They confirmed their relationship in April, with Hamilton sharing a video of the couple driving in his Ferrari F40 in Tokyo.

Most recently, the pair attended the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art opening night in Los Angeles on Sept. 19.

The duo was spotted sharing a smooch during the event. In a video posted by E! News, the reality star was seen wiping her lipstick off the sportsman’s lips after they shared a romantic kiss during the evening.

Before her relationship with Hamilton, Kardashian dated comedian Pete Davidson for nine months until their split in August 2022.

In a season 6 episode of The Kardashians, Kardashian reflected on her 2022 divorce from West, 49.

After sister Khloé Kardashian opened up about an emotional reunion with her ex-husband Lamar Odom and looked back at the end of their marriage, it prompted Kim to reflect on her own divorce.

“That was the love of my life. And if it wasn’t for drugs, I know we would still be married ‘til today,” Khloé said. “I know I picked the right person at that time. None of us knew he was on drugs until it was at least a year in. That’s what was so terrifying.

“That’s the hardest part. I’ve been there,” Kim said. “When you don’t foresee something happening that really changes a person’s personality and then they’re not the same person and you can’t ever get that person back, but you can’t live with the new person. I get it.”

She added in a confessional, “It’s tougher when you don’t want your marriage to end off of personal reasons but circumstances change that force your marriage to end. When you weren’t planning on that and that’s not really the outcome you want but there’s no other option, I think it makes it harder to get over.”

Kim and West share daughters North, 13, and Chicago, 8, and sons Saint, 10, and Psalm, 7. She filed for divorce in 2021 following a series of ups and downs as the rapper struggled with his bipolar disorder.
