After her round at the Mexico Riviera Maya Open at Mayakoba, Nelly Korda — the reigning world No. 1 — was asked about her sister’s announcement. Her smile said plenty. Soon, she said, she’ll once again trade the role of dominant competitor for doting aunt, a balance the Korda family has learned to embrace with ease.

For Jessica, the pregnancy marks another moment of transition during a phase of life that has already reshaped her perspective on the game. For Nelly, it’s one more reminder that even at golf’s highest level, the moments that matter most often happen well beyond the ropes.

“So excited. It’s been a hard secret to keep, but I’m so happy for them,” Nelly said. “I mean, she’s just such an amazing mom, and to see her step into that role two years ago with Greyson, I’ve never seen her so happy.
