Brooklyn Beckham Defends Nicola Peltz Beckham from Body-Shaming Comments: ‘Don’t Ever Talk About My Wife’
Brooklyn Beckham defended his wife Nicola Peltz Beckham after a body-shaming comment was left under his cooking video
“You should never comment on a woman’s body,” Brooklyn wrote in reply to a user who said Nicola looks “sickly”
Earlier this year, a source told PEOPLE that Nicola’s weight loss is because of her upcoming role in the ballerina film Prima
Brooklyn Peltz Beckham is standing up for his wife Nicola Peltz Beckham.
The 27-year-old son of Victoria Beckham and David Beckham came to Nicola’s defense when a social media user left a body-shaming comment on his recent cooking video.
On Wednesday, Aug. 26, Brooklyn shared an Instagram Reel showing himself making a cottage pie. While Nicola, 31, doesn’t appear in the video, one commenter shared their opinion on her appearance.
“Do you comment on everyone who is concerned about your wife and how sickly she looks? She puts herself out there. Feed her,” they wrote.
Brooklyn defended his wife in his reply, writing, “Don’t ever talk about my wife. She’s absolutely beautiful and you should never comment on a woman’s body. It’s disgraceful.”
In January, fans called attention to Nicola’s thinner-than-usual appearance in the comments of her Instagram post sharing snaps from a cozy getaway with Brooklyn.
A source told PEOPLE at the time the weight loss is because of her upcoming role in the ballerina film Prima, which Peltz will star in alongside Faye Dunaway, Mira Sorvino and Jack Huston.
“She’s undergone a physical transformation and intense workout regimen for her role in Prima, where she portrays a prima ballerina,” the source explains. (Film producers did not respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.)
According to the press release for Prima, the film follows the story of Margo (Peltz Beckham), a dedicated prima ballerina raised by her disciplinarian and “guardian of the art” grandmother (Dunaway).
In the wake of a public fallout between the couple and Brooklyn’s parents, Brooklyn and Nicola decided they are no longer celebrating the date of their first wedding as their anniversary, and are instead embracing memories of their vow renewal ceremony.
PEOPLE confirmed in August that the couple is not celebrating the date of their first wedding, a star-studded ceremony held in Palm Beach, Fla., on April 9, 2022.
