After canceling her practice session the day before, Elena Rybakina looked reassuring in her second-round match at the US Open, defeating Jessica Bouzas Maneiro 6-2, 6-4.
“It was not a perfect preparation at all”
After displaying a good level of play, she gave an on-court interview in which she was asked about her preparation, disrupted by her leg injury.
“I’m very proud. It’s true that it was not a perfect preparation at all. I was a bit frustrated seeing everyone training to get ready for the tournament while I was only doing as much recovery as possible and gym work.
