“Get John McEnroe out of the f**king booth” – Podcaster blasts American for ‘disrespecting’ Djokovic-conqueror Navone at US Open
John McEnroe came under fire from a popular podcaster for his commentary during Mariano Navone’s first-round upset of Novak Djokovic at the 2026 US Open. According to the podcaster, McEnroe disrespected Navone on multiple occasions despite the Argentine’s memorable five-set win over the former World No. 1 and 24-time major champion.
George Carmi, a popular content creator and podcaster, shared an Instagram Reel that featured his criticism of McEnroe. Accusing the American former No. 1 and seven-time singles Grand Slam winner of disrespecting Navone at this year’s US Open, Carmi said:
“I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again. Get John McEnroe out of the f**king booth. I don’t want to keep hearing this man talk. His disrespect towards Mariano Navone last night is unacceptable.”
Carmi went on to point out a particular instance of McEnroe’s commentary he found fault with, which happened in the immediate aftermath of the Argentine’s win over the legendary Serb.
“Navone wins a five-set thriller against 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic under the lights on Arthur Ashe Stadium, and John McEnroe’s first way of congratulating him is, “We’ll see you in the second round on Court 21. We wish you the best.” Unacceptable commentating, and his attitude towards Navone for the entirety of the match was completely unacceptable,” Carmi added.
Highlighting another instance of McEnroe’s questionable commentary during the 2026 US Open contest between Navone and Djokovic, Carmi continued:
“Right from the beginning of the match, John McEnroe says that Navone is a good matchup for Djokovic because he will not challenge him. Complete disrespect, and it’s incredibly bothersome that he has not been removed yet.”
