“It’s Obvious No One Wants to Talk to Elena Rybakina” — Fans Deeply Hurt as They Blame Vukov After the Kazakh Star’s “Sad” No-Contact Admission About the French Open Boycott
Elena Rybakina’s fans recently expressed their frustration with her coach Stefano Vukov after she admitted that no contact was made with her regarding a potential French Open boycott. World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka stated that the players could boycott Roland Garros in order to receive a bigger share of tournament revenues at the Grand Slams.
Her stance was echoed by the likes of Jannik Sinner and Coco Gauff. But when Rybakina was asked if she would be joining her fellow competitors, the Kazakh responded that no one had approached her.
Her fans have now reacted to that, suggesting that the isolation was because of the presence of her coach, Vukov.
In early 2025, Coach Vukov was handed a suspension after allegations of “unhealthy” and “abusive” behavior towards the Australian Open champion. However, Elena Rybakina defended him, stating she wasn’t mistreated.
Following her recent admission, fans blamed her coach for the neglectful treatment of her, with one of them writing:
“It’s kind of obvious that no one wants to talk to her bc they don’t want to deal with her team and i don’t blame them tbh. this is also why she doesn’t get as many brand deals and sponsorships as you’d expect.”
This just made me sad . relationships like that are so isolating and for a reason,” another fan added
“Imagine dealing with a self appointed manager like Vukov as a brand, like no please.”
One of the fans highlighted her incredible feats and referred to the treatment as “disrespectful.”
She’s AO champ and no. 2 it’s really disrespectful this time.
