Nicolas Hamilton says he would never ask his brother Lewis Hamilton for money despite the success the Ferrari driver has achieved.
Nicolas, who was born seven years after Lewis, has been racing professionally since 2011. He has competed in the British Touring Car Championship since 2019, though he was absent in 2024.
He has now raced 159 times in the series, achieving a best finish of sixth at Donington Park three years ago.

While funding can be scarce at the national level of motorsport, Hamilton Jr is determined to compete without any ‘handouts’ from his brother.
One of the highest-paid athletes on the planet, Lewis Hamilton reportedly earns £53m per year at Ferrari.
Nicolas has signed deals with major brands off his own back, including Monster Energy (his partner since 2015).
He explained on the Gypsy Tales podcast last month that his surname has been both a help and a ‘hindrance’ during his career.
Trying to create a career in the line of work that Lewis has already achieved, plus I have a disability, plus I don’t have the money to do it – I don’t go to Lewis for the money,” Nicolas, who has cerebral palsy, said. “I wouldn’t do that.
“[I’ve] never [asked him for money]. Absolutely, he would have, but I would have just felt guilty. My brother and my dad worked their a— off to get where they are today. They didn’t do it through handouts, they grafted.
“I grafted to be able to walk, I grafted to be in the position I am today, physically, so I don’t want any handouts.
“I didn’t want people to be like, ‘Oh he’s only there because of Lewis.’ Even though people say that today, I have the Hamilton name, but I’m here because I did it myself.
They helped me mentally, my dad helped me to get off the ground. Of course, being related to Lewis helps in some areas, but also hinders in others. It’s not a bed of roses.
“To try and succeed in that sport is tough. I’m not a driver like Lewis. I’m not a seven-time Formula 1 world champion like Lewis.
“I realise that, whether I’m at the back or at the front, I’m a champion in my own right.”
A number of F1 driver siblings are active in other motorsport categories. Most notably, Oliver Bearman’s younger brother Thomas is competing at Formula 4 level, while Arthur Leclerc, who has driven in practice sessions for Ferrari, races GT cars.
