Happy birthday Prince Louis! 13 of his cheekiest moments as young royal turns…

Prince Louis is celebrating his seventh birthday today. The Prince and Princess of Wales welcomed their third child – and Prince George and Princess Charlotte’s little brother – into the world on April 23, 2018.
Whether he’s pulling faces or yelling in delight, royal fans can’t seem to get enough of the youngster and his cheeky antics. Despite being one of the youngest royals, Louis has definitely earned his place as one of the public’s favourite members of the Royal Family.
From his cheeky faces at the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee to his inherently playful nature at his mum’s Christmas Carol service, here the Express takes a look back at some of Louis’ cheekiest moments.
The young prince joined his family at last year’s Christmas Carol service in London – which is hosted by his mum Princess Kate. Although he appeared mostly on his best behaviour, Louis did delight fans with an array of cheeky faces during his appearance. While seeming to talk about the soloists from the Royal Ballet who performed during the service, Kate said that she had enlisted Louis to keep it a surprise for his sister – and that he did an excellent job at keeping to his word. Speaking to Paloma Faith, she said that Louis agreed, saying: “He has kept the secret for, what, nearly two weeks now.
The young royal has made very few public appearances across the past year but he did make an appearance during the Royal Family’s Christmas Day walk on December 25, 2024. Louis, alongside his two older siblings, got to engage with members of the public who lined the walk to St Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham. During the event, Louis drew laughter as he smashed a Terry’s Chocolate Orange on the floor during a church service. According to The Sun, Reverend Canon Dr Paul Rhys Williams told Louis that you have to tap it and unwrap it. Royal fans gathered outside the church, listening to the service via speakers, then heard him tell Prince Louis: “Just drop it
Just as he did in December 2024, Prince Louis attended the Princess of Wales’s Christmas carol concert at Westminster Abbey the previous year. Although his siblings had attended before, it was Louis’s first time attending the annual event. As the family-of-five stepped out, Louis couldn’t help but let his cheeky side out at one given opportunity. The then-five-year-old was spotted trying to blow out his sister’s candle as she stood next to him. Charlotte, however, showed that she was used to her brother’s cheeky antics as she just laughed at what he was doing.
Louis was spotted entertaining the adoring crowds during the annual Trooping the Colour event in June 2023. Pulling an array of funny faces, the young royal – who had just turned five – once again amused fans – as well as his mum. Princess Kate could be seen looking down adoringly at her son and laughing as she caught eye of his antics. Louis was spotted sporting a perfect salute and showing appreciation in the form of a double fist pump.
Although not in attendance at last year’s service, Prince Louis stole the show at the Easter Sunday service in 2023. The Prince and Princess of Wales haven’t attended the service since 2023 – this year opting to spend the annual holiday in Norfolk. Walking hand-in-hand with his mum Kate, Louis – then aged four – appeared on his best behaviour – but not without pulling a few sweet, yet cheeky faces to onlookers. This appearance also shocked fans who pointed out that Prince Louis is “growing up fast” – prompting them to think he will likely be tall as an adult. Louis was also spotted cheekily poking his tongue out at onlookers.
