Just In: Things Are Going from Bad to Worse for Emma Raducanu 😭 as Her Career Hits a New Low After Fresh Tournament Pull-Outs Leave Her in a Nightmare Situation
Emma Raducanu has pulled out of two more tournaments after being forced to withdraw from Wimbledon, and it may impact her WTA ranking.
The 2021 US Open winner has had a 2026 to forget after suffering multiple injury setbacks, including a stress fracture in her lower right leg, which saw her pull out of Wimbledon on the eve of the tournament despite reaching the final of Queen’s earlier in June.
At the start of the year, the Brit managed to reach the second round of the Australian Open before losing to Austria’s Anastasia Potapova.

The 23-year-old did compete at the French Open but lost to Argentina’s Solana Sierra in the first round.
It has since emerged that Raducanu will miss at least the opening tournaments of the upcoming hard-court swing, with the youngster confirming she will not play at the Canadian Open, which commences on August 1.
Raducanu has also not entered the Cincinnati Open, which takes place two weeks after the Canadian WTA 1000 event.
As a result, she will likely lose 325 WTA ranking points, having put in solid showings in North America last year by reaching the third round of both tournaments.
She is likely to drop out of the top 60 of the WTA rankings despite being ranked 38th as of July 16.
The drop in the rankings may see her lose her status as British No. 1, with compatriot Katie Boulter currently ranked 66th.
Meanwhile, if she does drop out of the top 60, it will impact her run at the fourth major of the season – the US Open – with the Brit likely to face tougher opposition earlier in the tournament.
There are 32 seeded players in the women’s singles draw at all Grand Slam tournaments.
If Raducanu fails to recover in time for the US Open, she is set to lose a further 130 ranking points, as she reached the third round of the American Grand Slam last year before eventually losing to Elena Rybakina.
This would be considered a nightmare scenario, as she may start the 2027 campaign ranked outside the WTA top 100.
Raducanu is also not on the entry list for the Washington Open, having reached the semi-finals of the event in 2025. The US Open gets underway on August 23.
