Queen Camilla makes her feelings clear on King Charles’ health amid return to…

Queen Camilla has revealed that King Charles is “getting better” and “recovering” from cancer, whilst expressing concern about his determination to increase his workload.

The Queen said her husband wants to do “more and more and more” as he continues his recovery.

Speaking to British newspapers during the couple’s recent state visit to Italy, Camilla said: “I think he loves his work and it keeps him going.
“I think it’s wonderful, if you’ve been ill and you are recovering, you’re getting better and now he wants to do more and more and more. That’s the problem.”

Camilla added: “That’s what he’s driven by, helping others.”

The King has been undergoing cancer treatment for more than a year and was briefly hospitalised last month due to side effects.

Despite this setback, palace officials confirm Charles is determined to maintain his busy schedule.

“We’ve all tried!” a senior palace official admitted when asked if the King had been pushing himself too hard.
The official added: “But as people will have seen, the King enjoys his work, he enjoys engaging with as many people as possible.”

“In this role, as when Prince of Wales, he knows he is fortunate to be in a position to make a difference, and is determined to do just that.”

On meeting other cancer sufferers during a visit to Northern Ireland on March 20, the King told them: “You just have to push on, don’t you”.
The royal couple undertook 18 engagements during their four-day visit to Rome and Ravenna last week.

They marked their 20th wedding anniversary in Rome on Wednesday with a private visit to the Pope at the Vatican.
“Their Majesties both came away feeling that it had been a very significant and special moment,” a palace aide said.

Palace officials confirmed the King and Queen will participate in several more state visits this year, both hosting foreign dignitaries and travelling abroad, as Charles continues to receive weekly cancer treatments.

After the Italian tour, the couple retreated to their Birkhall home on the Balmoral estate in Scotland and are expected to attend the Easter Sunday service at Windsor Castle and the Maundy Service at Durham Cathedral on April 17.
