Just In: Prince Harry attempts to distract from devastating court defeat with new announcement

Prince Harry has attempted to draw attention away from court defeat today with a brand-new major announcement. The 41-year-old has revealed during his appearance in the UK that Uganda has joined the Invictus Community of Nations.

According to the official Invictus Games Instagram account, the country is the 26th member of the community. The introduction to the Games also involved a standing ovation from attendees at the Invictus Games Conversation at Chatham House in London this afternoon.

The major announcement comes just hours after it was revealed that Harry had lost his unlawful information-gathering lawsuit against the Daily Mail’s publisher, Associated Newspapers Ltd (ANL).

The trial previously came to an end back in March.

Just four months later, Mr Justice Nicklin delivered his verdict in writing the same day that Harry began his week-long visit to the UK for the Invictus Games.

It is understood that each of Harry’s 14 claims for different articles has been dismissed.

Harry arrived in the UK on Monday afternoon, without his wife and children – who were previously also going to travel to Britain with him – in tow.

Meghan Markle and their children, Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five, have also not travelled to the UK since 2022.

This is due to fears for their safety as they no longer have access to taxpayer-funded police protection.

It remains unknown where the Duke of Sussex will stay during his trip. King Charles previously offered him a stay at a royal residence, this was, however, accepted too late meaning that the offer was later “withdrawn”.
