Princess Kate and Prince William issue personal message to Princess Anne after royal’s return

The Prince and Princess of Wales have issued a personal message to Princess Anne after her return to royal duties.
Princess Anne undertook her first engagement since being involved in an incident with a horse that left her in hospital for five days.

The royal couple wrote on social media: “Super trooper! So great to see you back so soon! W & C x”

Kate and William were reacting to photographs of Princess Anne during her first engagement since being released from hospital.

Anne visited the Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) National Championships at Hartpury University and Hartpury College in Gloucester on Friday.

The RDA is celebrating its 55th anniversary this year and Her Royal Highness has been the Patron of the RDA since November 1971.

The Princess Royal took on the role of President of the organisation in March 1986.
Helena Vega Lozano, chair of RDA UK, stated that Anne shared a brief insight into the incident that left her in the hospital.

Vega said: “As soon as she got out of the car she said: ‘I can’t remember a single thing about it.'”

The royal spent five days in hospital before being discharged on Friday June 28th
In June, Anne’s husband, Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence, said that his wife was “recovering slowly” following the accident, and went on to praise the medical staff who looked after her at Southmead Hospital.

A statement released from Buckingham Palace on June 24 regarding Anne’s injury said: “The Princess Royal has sustained minor injuries and concussion following an incident on the Gatcombe Park estate yesterday evening.

Her Royal Highness remains in Southmead Hospital, Bristol, as a precautionary measure for observation and is expected to make a full and swift recovery.
“The King has been kept closely informed and joins the whole Royal Family in sending his fondest love and well-wishes to the Princess for a speedy recovery.”

Following the incident, Buckingham Palace confirmed that on doctor’s advice, Anne’s engagements would be canceled until further notice.
Anne was unable to carry out a scheduled trip to Canada following the injuries.
