Prince Harry ‘pushed Meghan Markle away from William and Kate’ in shocking reunion moment
A body language expert has analysed footage of the ‘Fab Four’ reuniting during a walkabout in Windsor following the death of Queen Elizabeth in September 2022, and it shows the uncomfortable feeling between the two couples.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made the journey to the UK to join Prince William and Princess Kate as they met with grieving crowds, in their first close meeting since the 2021 Oprah Winfrey interview.
Body language expert Jesús Enrique Rosas said on his YouTube channel Royal Rogue that at one point Harry appeared to “push his wife away from William and Catherine” in one of the most “spectacular displays of body language” they have ever seen.
The group were getting ready to leave in the car, with Harry showing Meghan to her seat, however there appeared to be a mix-up and he initially tried to guide her to the passenger seat occupied by Kate.
It was at this moment that the Duke of Sussex stepped behind his wife and placed his hands on her waist as if to gently encourage her to move past William.
Mr Rosas also praised Princess Kate for her composure during the awkward reunion, as she and Meghan have never had a close friendship.
He explained: “It was obvious that despite how uncomfortable Catherine could be, she managed to slay. She nailed the way one should behave when you find yourself in a situation in which you need to share the stage with others.
“Meghan was nervous, looking in Catherine’s direction, and Meghan’s left hand – was at least, for a split second – covering her chest. Catherine was walking tall with her hands relaxed and her chin really up.
The expert commented further about Kate’s confidence: “I have seen Catherine walking a thousand times and she usually doesn’t have her chin that high up – in some scenarios, it could be read as arrogance, but in this case, it was more like… she was showing who was in charge.
“Despite what was being requested of William and Catherine in this moment, they behaved in the most diplomatic and polite way, and that is the ability that some people have, that is part of emotional intelligence.”
In comparison Meghan’s “small wave” to the crowd demonstrated her anxiety at being back in the UK, as she has not returned here since Queen Elizabeth’s funeral.
In another picture comparison of the Waleses and the Sussexes standing by the car Mr Rosas gave his opinion: “This is another picture truly representative of the power of presence.
You can see the tension in Meghan’s body with her arm contracted and if you have a keen eye, you can also see the tension in her neck.
“That is not to say that Catherine was not tense as well, but even in that tension, she knew that she had a role bigger than herself and her feelings.
