Prince William has made a huge announcement on the day that his brother, Prince Harry, marks his eighth wedding anniversary with Meghan Markle. The future king will be visiting the Isles of Scilly at the end of this week and will be making an appearance on Heart Breakfast.
Radio hosts Amanda Holden and Jamie Theakston confirmed the exciting news, as they played a recorded message by the Prince. A video clip of the moment was shared on Heart’s official YouTube channel.
Prince William said: “Hi Jamie and Amanda, I’m heading down to the Isle of Scilly, off the coast of Cornwall, on Friday, to see some of the terrific work going on there to support the local community.
“I’m also opening the new wing of the hospital in St Mary’s, which will be a fantastic moment.
“Amanda, I know how fond you are of Cornwall, and of the Isle of Scilly, so it’d be really lovely if you could both come along.”
The Prince of Wales’s upcoming plans were revealed amid the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s wedding anniversary. Meghan Markle took to Instagram with two carousel posts celebrating eight years of marriage.
The Duchess shared several unseen photographs from their 2018 wedding. Alongside the photographs, Meghan simply captioned the post “Eight years ago today” with a sun and moon emoji, while also crediting photographer Chris Allerton.
The string of photos features snaps of the royal couple on the dance floor, and one of the pair sharing a passionate kiss.
Harry and Meghan tied the knot at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle, and just two years after the pair stepped back from royal duties and relocated to Southern California, where they currently live with their two children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 4.
